Multi-attacker fight: how to survive
In a multi-fight (3+ active attackers), survival is constant mobility. NEVER stand still more than a second. Turn, pivot, back away. Every hit you take comes from an unseen attacker — so see ALL attackers permanently.
Step-by-step tactic
- 1Permanent motion — never more than 1 second still.
- 2Keep hands up in high guard.
- 3Back toward an obstacle (wall, car) to limit angles.
- 4Strike short (1-2 hits) then move.
- 5Actively seek the exit opening.
Eli & Yehouda Avikzar method — Facing many: never head-on. Identify the weak link, create a breach, flee. Survival isn't victory — it's the exit.
Legal framework
In multi-fight, you're presumed in self-defense as long as you're not the instigator. Proportionality is assessed globally (1 vs 4) not per hit.
Frequently asked questions
Can I strike first?
Yes if immediate threat is proven (gestures, movement toward you). Pre-emptive defense is case-law recognized.
